The Heart Book is regarded as the oldest Danish ballad manuscript. It is a collection of 83 love ballads compiled in the beginning of the 1550s in the circle of the Court of King Christian III. Shown here is the beginning of ballad no. 43, Store laengsel, du gor mig naer (Great Yearning, thou touches me).

Anamanaguchi poster for a July show in Williamsburg, illustrated by Maré Odomo and designed by Cory Schmitz (click for a larger image). I am swooning all over this.

The art is based on Adrian Tomine’s ”Super-hero Girls” piece for Weezer, adding extra touches like the yellow Game Boy, Totoro pillow, Wavebird controller, and Famicom. You can also see some Anamanaguchi bits like Frug, the Four Loko can, and band members Peter and Luke (represented here by the lesbian rockers).

Attract Mode will sell 24” x 36” prints at the show.
